Publishing Allegations

  As a subscriber, it saddened me to see the paper succumb to publishing allegations by unnamed sources (including a particularly duplicitous “friend and admirer”) about one of the truly great men in our community (“Ohel’s Halachic Adviser: OK To Cheat On Taxes?” June 12).

I have known Rabbi Dovid Cohen for 45 years, and have heard him speak countless times about the importance of adhering to the laws of society and to the highest standards of ethical commercial behavior.  It is therefore inconceivable that he made the comments attributed to him.
