It is a shame that certain Modern Orthodox organizations and rabbis have failed to appreciate the great accomplishments of Rabbi Weiss and Rabbi Linzer, and the remarkable rabbis that are produced by Yeshiva Chovevei Torah. Apparently, these organizations and rabbis have lurched precipitously to the right in a misguided attempt to appeal to so-called “Yeshivish” Jews who are far removed from Modern Orthodoxy. I suspect that most Modern Orthodox Jews would welcome an ordained rabbi from Chovevei Torah and would benefit greatly from their semicha training. Congratulations to Rabbi Weiss and Rabbi Linzer for resisting challenges from those organizations and rabbis who have seemingly forgotten what it means to be Modern Orthodox.
