Incoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hit the ground running after being picked to form a government, and experts say he could be ready for his first scandal by the end of the month.

“Bibi has the experience to make things happen quickly,” said Gerald Steinbrenner, a professor at the School of Government and Criminal Justice at Vanunu University in Ashdod. “He’s no novice to the job. I’d say there’s an excellent chance of a corruption investigation by late March, possibly an extramarital flap even sooner. And let’s not forget there hasn’t been a good votes-for-pay scandal in a while.”

Steinbrenner said it was unlikely that the Likud leader would be suspected of taking bribes, “because that’s so 2007. Bibi’s a maverick. He’s going to blaze his own trail.”

In related news, New Yorker Morris Talansky, who says he gave packets of cash to outgoing Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert, has requested a meeting with Netanyahu.
