Ninety-seven percent of U.S. and Canadian college campuses report no anti-Israel or anti-Semitic events, and the campus-based anti-Israel divestment effort has failed, according to a new study.

The American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise released the findings of its new study, “Israel and the Campus: The Real Story,” on Tuesday. Mitchell Bard, the AICE’s executive director, and Jeff Dawson, the private organization’s campus liaison, authored the report.

BERKELEY, CALIF. (JTA) -- Competing anti-Israel and pro-Israel weeks are getting underway on more than two dozen North American college campuses.

The seventh annual Israel Apartheid Week officially launches Tuesday, March 1 and continues through the end of the month. Campuses in 12 United States and six Canadian cities are planning events and hosting speakers protesting Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. Some campuses have scheduled similar events at other times during the school year.

Sanctions shortened for Muslim student group

SAN FRANCISCO (JTA) -- A Muslim student group at the University of California, Irvine, had a yearlong suspension shortened to four months.

The Muslim Student Union (MSU) on the Irvine campus will be barred from operating this fall semester, the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles reported.
