The Republican Jewish Coalition launched a $5 million television advertising campaign aimed at Jewish voters in Florida, Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania. It began Wednesday and runs through Nov. 5 in cable and broadcast TV markets with sizable Jewish populations. The first spot is a shortened version of one of the group’s “buyer’s remorse” videos, which featured disillusioned Obama voters.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said it is considering its options after a U.S. District Court ordered it to run a subway advertisement on subways and buses that reads “Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.”
The MTA’s quandary comes in the wake of recent protests in Arab countries and in Arab communities around the world over an anti-Muslim film that resulted in the deaths of American diplomats in Libya and violence at American embassies.
The ZOA did not file returns for three consecutive years, the Forward reported Tuesday.
Morton Klein, the ZOA’s president, confirmed to JTA that the organization has not been tax exempt since March. Since then, he said, the organization has filed the returns and is now seeking reinstatement.
