After Brief Senate Career, Russian-Speaking Pol Aims For City Council

06/17/2013 | Adam Dickter | Assistant Managing Editor
David Storobin seeks a political comeback after defeat in race for super-Jewish Senate district.

He served just 11 days in Albany, and spent much of his brief term as a state senator struggling to help constituents recover from Superstorm Sandy before falling victim to redistricting.

Carl Kruger -– after months of counting and unproven allegations of voter fraud. But Kruger’s district was split in five in last year’s reapportionment process.

Although conceding that the road to fiscal solvency is tougher than anticipated — this year’s $1 million budget shortfall will be double what was expected — a leader of the Conservative movement expressed confidence that the 2015 budget would not have to tap into reserves, more than half of which have been depleted in the last four years.
