Noah Pozner: A Loving ‘Little Man’

12/18/2012 | JTA

It was a eulogy for a life that had only just begun.

Veronique Pozner remembered her son Noah as a rambunctious, video-game loving “little man,” a boy with a perpetual smile and twinkly blue eyes who dreamed of becoming a doctor, a soldier or manager of a factory that makes tacos — his favorite food.

Noah Samuel Pozner, age 6, was the youngest victim of the massacre last week at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. He was laid to rest Monday, his miniature wooden casket set beneath the podium where his mother stood.

Hagel At Pentagon Could Spell More U.S.-Israel Tension

12/18/2012 | Stewart Ain | Staff Writer
Sen. John Kerry, top, is seen by observers as a “safe” pick for secretary of state, but former Sen. Chuck Hagel bottom.

Even before their expected appointments to key cabinet posts in the next Obama administration, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Nebraska) are getting reviews from pro-Israel analysts — generally positive for Kerry and decidedly mixed for Hagel.

“John Kerry is safe, a centrist, loyal and confirmable [as secretary of state],” said Aaron David Miller, a vice-president for current initiatives at the Woodrow Wilson Center and a former adviser on the Middle East to Democratic and Republican administrations.

Jews think of themselves as a minority, but in about thirty years, everybody will be a minority – or nobody will be, according to the first Census Bureau projections based on the 2010 census, which predict that no single ethnic or racial group will constitute a majority of the country by 2043.

12/16/2012 | JTA

A Jewish child was identified as the youngest of the 26 victims killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre in Newtown, Conn.

First grade student Noah Pozner, the youngest of the victims murdered on Friday, had just turned 6 years old Nov. 20; he will be laid to rest on Sunday.

Israeli news site Ynet reported that Pozner's twin sister is also a student at Sandy Hook but survived the shooting.
