Polls are predicting that about half of Iran’s 50 million eligible voters will go to the polls Friday to elect a new president, but Middle East expert Uzi Rabi said the winner in the six-man race is not expected to make any major changes in his dealings with Israel.

An appearance Friday by Louis Farrakhan at a rally against changes in the Voting Rights Act mobilized the Birmingham Jewish Federation to educate the public about the Nation of Islam leader’s record of anti-Semitism.

But press reports of the gathering suggest that Farrakhan limited his public comments to calling for the preservation of the Voting Rights Act and evoking the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Google Reportedly Set To Buy Hot Israeli Startup Waze

(JTA) — Google will acquire the Israeli navigation company Waze for $1.3 billion, an Israeli business daily reported.

Neither Waze nor Google has confirmed the report by Globes. A later report by Bloomberg put the price at $1.1 billion.
