A high school student was arrested Tuesday for making a bomb threat on Facebook against his Five Towns Orthodox yeshiva.

Newsday identified the teen as Joel Levy, 16, a student at the Mesivta Ateres Yaakov School in Lawrence and cited police reports that Levy acted because he was angry about being suspended from school for text-messaging during class.

"The defendant posted the threats on his Facebook page, which were brought to the attention of the principal," said the Nassau County Police Department in a statement.  "The school was evacuated and the surrounding streets were shut down from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The subject was in school at this time and placed under arrest without incident."

The police said the Woodmere resident is charged with making A terrorist threat and aggravated harassment in the 2nd degree and was arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead. He was released afetr posting bond on $50,000 bail.

He was also barred from contacting the assistant principal who kicked him out of class,  Yossi Bennett, who is an assistant principal, Newsday reported.

The threat was identified by Facebook friends of Levy's, reports said.

The threat came a day after two bombs exploded at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring nearly 200.
