If a black man or an illegal alien shot Congresswoman Giffords in the head, would leftists blame blacks or Hispanics?

No, the left would blame poverty.

If a Moslem shot Giffords in the head, would the left blame militant Islam?

No, leftists would build a new mosque in Tuscon, reaching out to moderates, refusing to get into the gutter with extremists and hysterics, insisting that we use this tragedy to find ways to heal.

The cartoon shows Obama saying of Imam Rauf, "I support the right of religious groups to build on their property..." In the next panel, Obama adds, "Sometimes," holding his "Freeze Settlements" edict while standing next to Israel's Netanyahu.

He recommends a book that denies that mass murder of Jews took place during World War II, calls the Holocaust a hoax and declares that “All this [information about six million Jewish deaths] is false propaganda.” Hitler, the leader says, “never intended to mass-destroy the Jews.”

The Anti-Defamation League issued a statement Friday against the building of a mosque near the World Trade Center memorial site. And on Monday, the American Jewish Committee entered the fray as well, saying the Cordoba Initiative's $100 million cultural center on Park Place "has “has a right to be built.” But the organization urged the founders of the center to "urgently address concerns about funding and support for terrorism."

 The increasingly heated debate over the propriety of permitting an Islamic center to be built a few blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks in Lower Manhattan, ostensibly not a Jewish issue, should sound familiar to the Jewish community. It seems to parallel the debate about a Catholic convent that was opened near Auschwitz nearly three decades ago.
