Al Jazeera Pledges Not To Broadcast Merah Footage

Al Jazeera said it would not broadcast video footage shot by Mohammed Merah during his attacks on soldiers and on a Jewish school in Toulouse.

"In accordance with Al Jazeera's code of ethics, given the video does not add any information that is not already in the public domain, its news channels will not be broadcasting any of its contents," the network said Tuesday.

Al Jazeera also said it was declining all requests from other media outlets for copies of the footage.

Toulouse Killer Visited Israel, Syria, Iraq

The passport of Toulouse killer Mohammed Merah showed that he visited Israel, Syria, Iraq and Jordan, a French newspaper reported.

Police found Merah's passport in his apartment following the raid Thursday that led to his death, LeMonde reported. It is believed that he tried to visit the West Bank.

Merah jumped to his death from his apartment window during a police raid on his Toulouse home. He was also shot in his head by police as he jumped firing at the officers.

Police Surround Toulouse Suspect's Home As Victims Are Buried

Thousands attended the funeral in Jerusalem of the four victims of the attack on a Jewish school in Toulouse, as French police surrounded the home of their prime suspect.

French police early Wednesday morning raided the Toulouse home of a 24-year-old French national of Algerian descent. The man reportedly has links to Al-Qaida and has been known to French intelligence for many years.
