JERUSALEM - On February 9, 1969,  an epic nor’easter dumped 20 inches of snow on Queens, where I grew up.  I remember not going to school for a week or more because the city of New York hadn’t managed to removr the snow in the aftermath of the “Lindsay snowstorm.”

Snow began falling in Jerusalem on Thursday. By Saturday night, up to 20 inches covered the ground. Michele Chabin

Sanford Garelick, Former Top Cop And Politician, Dies At 93

Sanford Garelick, who as a high-ranking member of the New York Police Department worked on several high-profile cases in the 1960s, and as a public official ran for New York Mayor in the 1970s, died on Nov. 19. A lifelong Bronx native, he was 93.
