Cease-Fire Agreement Expected Next Week

Israel has not confirmed, but Hamas partner Islamic Jihad sees complete truce.

A spokesperson for the Islamic Jihad in Gaza said a cease-fire agreement will be signed with Israel next week, though Israeli officials have not confirmed this.

Hamas Declares Victory

Hamas said it won the war and forced Israel to retreat because it couldn't wipe out Hamas. 

It agree to a three-day ceasefire that was supposed to end this installment of the on-going Israel-Gaza wars but when Israel refused to surrender to its demands, the terrorist group let the pause expire and resumed firing rockets and mortars into Israel.  Naturally, the renewed violence was all Israel's fault, a Hamas spokesman said, because the Zionists wouldn't meet Hamas's conditions.

Palestinian militants are stepping up efforts to abduct Israeli soldiers, according to data released by the Israel Defense Forces.

A total of 27 attempts to abduct an Israeli soldier have been foiled so far in 2012, Haaretz reported. The figure constitutes a doubling of such cases compared to the first six months of 2012, an unnamed military source told the newspaper.

Palestinians, Arab Israeli Arrested For Tel Aviv Bus Bombing

Israel’s Shin Bet domestic security agency arrested several Palestinians and an Arab Israeli for allegedly blowing up a bus in Tel Aviv.

The Shin Bet revealed that its agents had arrested the suspects, including an Arab Israeli, for the attack last week on a bus, Israeli media reported. The security service did not say how many suspects were arrested.

The Arab-Israeli suspect, a resident of Taibeh near Kfar Saba, placed the explosive device on the bus and notified his commander by phone, who set it off, the Shin Bet said.

Seven mortar shells fired from exploded Monday morning in open areas of the western Negev, between Beersheba and Ashkelon.
