How Did They Find Out: Obama Waging War On Whites

Barack Obama has been waging a “war on whites” since coming to office, with an aim to “divide us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things.”

That charge comes from the fertile mind of Alabama Republican Congressman Mo Brooks.

It is part of the Democratic strategy to keep Hispanics from voting Republican, he said, and he predicts it will cost the President’s party white votes. And that, in his view, is why he and House Republicans killed comprehensive immigration reform this year.

A Tale of Two Cities: Jews vs. Hispanics and Blacks, New York City

New York magazine has a great chart comparing two adjacent New York City congressional districts in this week's issue.  One is District 14, which includes all of the Upper East Side, parts of Murray Hill, Long Island City, Astoria, and a few other less affluent places too.  The other is District 16, just north of the Upper East Side, and covers much of the South Bronx. The stats they line up are startling: the average income in District 14 is $79,385; in D-16 it's $23,073.

Latino-Jewish Congressional Caucus set to launch

Talk about good timing: this week the American Jewish Committee is launching a congressional Latino-Jewish Congressional Caucus, chaired by Reps. Xavier Becerra (D-CA), Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Debbie Wasserman-Shultz (D-FL).

Why good timing? Earlier this month the Census Bureau released a report showing that the nation's Hispanic population is growing faster than just about any other segment.
