You are invited to attend The Jewish Week's...

Jewish Week, Gala Dinner, December 12 at Sotheby's
The Jewish Week is proud to honor two distinguished leaders of New York's Jewish community. Jerry Levin, Immediate Past President of UJA-Federation of New York, is the first recipient of The Jewish Week's Distinguished Leadership Award and Gary Rosenblatt, Editor and Publisher of The Jewish Week, will be honored for his twenty years of outstanding journalistic achievement for The Jewish Week Media Group.

For more than 30 years, The Jewish Week has provided New York’s Jewish community with vital information and analysis not available elsewhere – the best in Jewish news, opinion, culture and more. The Jewish Week’s mission is clear: to inform, inspire and strengthen the Jewish community. Recently, its website, forums and educational events have expanded the ways this mission is fulfilled.

However, the economic turmoil has intensified the financial challenges facing media companies including The Jewish Week.

That is why the December 12th Gala has another vital purpose: to raise funds to support The Jewish Week and its journalistic mission, as well as its community building and educational initiatives, including programs like:

  • Student Internships: We train the next generation of print and online journalists through mentoring programs and paid internships where students learn valuable skills in writing, web development, sales and marketing.
  • Education initiatives: We keep the community up to date on the latest developments in Jewish education for all ages, plus Israeli initiatives, like our educational/student advocacy program for high school juniors and seniors, "Write On For Israel" and Fresh Ink for Teens, a website with content written for--and by--Jewish teens from around the world.
  • Community forums: The Jewish Week's Forums and other events bring authors, politicians, religious leaders and newsmakers to the community with in-depth discussions of the latest ideas and issues.
  • The Conversation: An annual gathering of thinkers and leaders from across the country who meet in an innovative, off-the-record format to discuss key issues facing the Jewish community
