Fairway Market heading to Staten Island, says City Councilman.
Fairway Market, the grocery store giant known for kosher offerings like European house-brand olive oil, spices and rotisserie chickens, seems to be heading to Staten Island, reports the Daily News.
The News said City Councilman James Oddo, a Republican of the island, spilled the beans at a press conference about Superstorm Sandy recovery near Fairway’s Red Hook store in Brooklyn.
Coming to Staten Island is a “top priority,” said Aaron Fleishaker, the store’s vice-president of real estate, according to the News.
Fairway spokeswoman Susan Graziano declined to comment further.
Oddo could not be reached for comment.
