Will terror against Israel never end?

Eugen Gluck, a major supporter of the town of Bet El located in Shomron, a stone’s throw from Ramallah, appealed to Israel “not to make any concessions to divide Jerusalem which could cause it to deteriorate into the terrorist base that Gaza has become.”

Presiding over the 31st annual dinner of the American Friends of Bet El Yeshiva Center, last week at the Marriott Marquis in New York, honorary chairman Gluck said he’s apprehensive about the missiles landing in Israel’s southern cities from Gaza.

Lt. Col. (ret.) Ralph Peters, who retired from the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, said there is no permanent solution to the Arab terrorist problem.

“We have to stop being ashamed of our civilization. I am predispositioned in favor of civilization and the rule of law and therefore prejudiced in favor of Israel. To me Israel is the best outpost of our civilization where Bet El holds the high moral ground.”

He finds that Arab individuals who settle in the West do fine.

“Problem is the Arab societies are so uncivilized. We are dealing with enemies who cannot be reasoned with. This is an age of butchery.

“Death to them is a promotion.”

Danny Danon, Israeli deputy minister of defense, was adamant. “We cannot stop building in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem. We cannot have a Palestinian state in our backyard.

“We are threatened but we have the ability to protect ourselves. We have Jewish satellites up in the air. Above all we have Hakodesh Baruch Hoo to protect us.”

For their support of Bet El, Gluck presented awards to Barbara and David Bortniker; Rachel and Joshua Goldsmith; Aliza and Elchanan Romanoff; and Sylvia Freyer.
