Mother Of Boston Suspects Told Son To 'Go To Palestine,' Report Says

The mother of the alleged Boston Marathon bombers spoke with her older son about going to "Palestine."

Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, in a telephone conversation from Russia with her older son Tamerlan, suggested that he go to Palestine during a discussion about jihad, The Associated Press reported. Russian security services intercepted the phone conversation, according to AP.

The day after the Boston Marathon bombing, President Obama called it an “act of terrorism.” What kind of terrorism, no one was ready to say -- a caution that derives from years of wrongful speculation that on occasion has ruined innocent lives.

Hours after the attack Monday that killed three and injured scores, Obama in a television address refrained from using the word “terrorism.” He did use it Tuesday, but wrapped it deep in caveats.

ADL Hails Drop in FBI Hate Crimes Stats, Though Still 'Far Too Many'

The Anti-Defamation League welcomed an FBI report showing a decrease in hate crimes over the past 10 years but said there were still “far too many” such crimes.

There were 6,222 hate crimes reported during 2011, according to the report released Monday. The year 2000 showed slightly more than 8,000 hate crimes.

The 2011 figure was a 6 percent decrease from 2010 and the least number of such crimes reported since 1994.

FBI Warns Of White Supremacist Threat Against ADL's Foxman

A white supremacist arrested after informing his wife that he planned to kill Jews and blacks may have targeted Anti-Defamation League leader Abraham Foxman, the FBI said.

Danny Lee Warner, 33, was arrested Dec. 28 outside a McDonald's in Arizona the day after his estranged wife received a letter postmarked Dec. 19 saying that he planned to kill “niggers and Jews” until the government "stopped him."
