Not So Humble
Thu, 01/21/2010

Abigail Pickus refers to herself as the reader’s “humble bespectacled heroine” in her Matchup column (“Call Waiting,” Jan. 1). After reading her story, I did not draw that conclusion. She writes “in a moment of sincere selflessness” she asked her friend if she should approach a guy the friend was interested in, then ends up talking with him all evening. I advise Pickus to look up the definition of selflessness.
