Appalled At Day School Study

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

I’m appalled at the failure of Jewish day schools and the apologies and platitudes of The Jewish Week (“Day Schools Need New Israel Ed Approach,” editor’s column, Feb. 18).
Will our schools also teach “both sides” of moral issues in our own country’s history? Slavery — good or bad, you decide? Fighting the Nazis in World War II? Well, maybe we should take “a multicultural approach.” After all, we don’t want to “push the case too hard” and risk creating backlash from forcing the “correct” response on these impressionable children?
How disgraceful.
