Are American-Jewish liberals ignoring Iran's threat to Israel?
Point-Counter-Point is a threaded discussion on major issues among leading thinkers in the Jewish world in Israel and North America.
On a regular basis, Point-Counter-Point participants will engage in respectful conversations, listening to each other, responding to each other, and, sometimes, learning from each other. The goal of Point-Counter-Point is not to reach agreement – although that sometimes may occur. Rather, Point-Counter-Point is designed to air issues in a meaningful way.
The Editor of Point-Counter-Point is Yossi Klein Halevi, one of the most noted journalists and commentators of our time. Yossi is an iEngage Fellow at Shalom Hartman Institute, a contributor to major publications in North America and Israel, and the author of several books.

The Shalom Hartman Institute iEngage Project was envisioned and developed in 2010 to respond to growing feelings of disenchantment and disinterest toward Israel among an ever-increasing number of Jews worldwide by creating a new narrative regarding the significance of Israel for Jewish life.
Drawing on the new narrative articulated by the iEngage team, the Engaging Israel: Foundations of a New Relationship video lecture series was launched, becoming the first in a sequence of educational initiatives designed to dramatically increase the outreach and impact of iEngage thought. Dozens of rabbis and scholars are using the iEngage lecture series in synagogues, federations, Hillel houses, Israeli consulates in the United States, and JCCs, while iEngage scholars have been presenting and modeling the iEngage message, methodology, and products at a wide range of key North American Jewish conferences, conventions, seminars, and leadership events.
Fall 2011 saw the launch of the live-streamed webinar series, Major Challenges Facing Israel through a Jewish Values-Based Lens, hosted by iEngage Fellow Dr. Tal Becker. Thousands worldwide viewed the live stream and taped sessions on the iEngage website. This fall, the Institute will present the iEngage Roundtable Series.
