I am on the board of the Hebrew Free Burial Association and a founding board member of a related charity, The Community Association for At-Risk Jewish Cemeteries (CAJAC). HFBA as you know focuses on burying indigent Jews with the full respect we would all hope to give any of our own family members, and CAJAC focuses on being a watch dog and ombudsman for Jewish cemeteries here in USA that are either already or at great risk of being neglected in the decades following the sale by its operator of the last revenue producing grave. In both cases, these are causes that are so important for all Jews (and non Jews!) to devote thought and time to, and I applaud you for using the Bodies exhibit as an opportunity to bring Kavod Hamet front and center in our community's conversation. Thanks.

Recall that Bush I actually threatened to withhold loan guarantees if West Bank settlements did not stop and I don't recall him being labelled anti-Israel.

Assuming Beck is correct and Soros did collaborate with the Nazis, this would be considered an act of treason by Hungary. However just the opposite is true, Soros is viewed as a hero to many people in his Home country. I was in Budapest last April and most in the emerging young entrepreneurial class have a very positive view of Soros.

As far as “educating me on the truth”, you can’t educate anyone on the truth, you can educate someone on the facts, but what I see as the truth will be shaped facts, attitudes and perceptions.
On the last point, a talk show host like Beck would never be popular in Canada, since our populace is far too educated and reality based. His brand of entertainment would only be successful if it was perceived as satire, then it would be hugely popular.
If this were a few thousand years ago, and Beck was criticising that king of Israel, Ahab, for marrying that woman Jezebel and committing many unrightious acts, would Mr Foxman accuse Beck of antisemitism because Ahab is a descendent of Abraham? Even if he used the prophet as a source? The Torah to condemn the acts? This article and many of these posts are filled with lies and deceptions. This seems to characterize the age we live in. Sad. Who cares whether you call it a "pogrom", "holocaust", "anti-Jewish violence", etc. The fact is that members of G-d's Chosen People--each and every one of us is holy--were hated and that hate became physical.
Do these 'scholars' really think that spending nearly 2 weeks on a crowded ship, leaving loved ones behind not knowing what would become of them was mostly for cash? Don't discount the fact that Jews were considered less than second-class citizens which no doubt made things harder in day-to-day life.
Before you talk about your ideal world let me ask this. Could your temple get a heksher tzedek? Is the most vulnerable staff in your temple provided good working conditions? Livable wages? Good health insurance? Unemployment insurance? My synagogue's clergy talks the same game you do. They have the same politics. But if my synagogue could get the anti heksher tzedek they would be granted it. It's do as we say not as we do Judaism in my non Orthodox synagogue. I think its a primary reason they have lost half their membership in the past 10 years. Yet the clergy/president/board still make decisions that only add to the injustices in our own synagogue and wonder why members are resigning. Is it the same by you Andy? I watched Glen Beck this week and found nothing anti-semitic in the program.. on the contrary, he spoke about the self-hating Jew George Soros. Perhaps you ought put on your listening ears wheny ou listen to Beck. or have you ever listened to him?
It is no secret that Obama, who was influenced by Islam as well as radical Black Liberation Theology, in addition to individuals like Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalili, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, and Edward Said, is immensely hostile to Israel and the Jews. The fact of the matter is that Obama is an enigmatic man, and we have to judge him based on his influences.

Well, no, thats not even sort of the case. If you were to actually pull your head out from Fox, you'd see that the property Soros "Helped" confiscate was clearly NOT from arrested jews, it was from jews who fled the country, the nazis letting them leave in return for giving up a vast portion of their estate. George Soros was there, spending his time mostly trying not to let anyone find out he was jewish. It sounds to me like your side thinks he shouldve walked up to a concentration camp and asked for death. You have no right, none at all, to pretend to know what George Soros was doing, what he was going through. He was a terrified 13 year old, facing a tragedy of unparralelled grasp. But considering how often your side jumps to call left-wingers nazis, it doesn't surprise me in the least that you would gloss over how horrific the entire event was for those who survived. After years of pretending Hitler had the exact opposite goals that he stated (In mein kampf, there are about 80 references praising the catholic god), its no wonder you have no idea the scope of events.
Ah, only partially right. Beck claims not only to know what Soros was doing 70 years ago, but also his reasons for every step he took AND his emotional state during the entire ordeal. Beck must be practicing his clairvoyance for when he becomes the god of his own universe. (Strange mormon belief, dont ask me how it meshes with christianity.)
Obama is following in the footsteps of another famous anti-Israel one term president, Jimmy carter. Carter continues to travel the world and use very venue possible to criticize and blame israel fr all the ills of the Arabs in geenral and Palestinians in particular. He gets up on his soap box in Syria, Saudia Arabia and other such friendly countries that have no freedom of speach, spouting his venom, but never calling the Arabs and Palestinins to task for their own responsibility in terrorism, jihad, intolerance, mysogeny, no free speach, and lack of peace with ISrael.
Enter Obama whose world tour (Indonesia, Cairo, etc) of bashing Israel and not calling the Arabs to task is as much a source of the lack of peace talks between Israel and the Arabs as anything else.

Grossly biased and misleading article. Beck is a friend to Israel. Soros is monster billionaire who's goal is the economic destruction of our America. Beck is the only one who has the courage to expose powerful people funding and leading the leftist drive toward socialism. He documents and implores us to do our own research. The Six Day War was not good for the Jews. The genius of Israel's War of Independence was to create borders out of Mandate Palestine within which Jews were a substantial majority. The Six Day War undid that achievement, and made Israel occupiers of a hostile population.
