‘Enough Is Enough’

Last Passover, as Jeffrey Rubin and his son Benjamin were heading for early morning prayers at the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, they discussed how to help Israel as the Palestinian attacks against the nation increased. Benjamin, then a 15-year-old junior at Long Island’s Hebrew Academy for the Five Towns and Rockaway, came up with the idea to unite American yeshiva teens to show support. With the help of fellow student Baruch Danziger, they formed the National Council of Yeshivot in Support of Israel.

History is Made At Washington Rally

Washington — They came from Memphis and they came from Midwood. They bused in from Bayside and they rode the rails from Richmond. There were Hoosiers and Bluegrass Staters and a soul or two from Alaska who took a long day’s journey into the Lower 48 wearing their love of the Jewish state — and their fears over its future — on their sleeves.

National Rally Set For Monday

For the first time since the Six-Day War in 1967, Jewish leaders are calling for an emergency national Israel Solidarity rally in Washington to take place Monday. With the decision to hold the rally made just a week before the event, dozens of national Jewish groups — from Reform to Orthodox, from right wing to left — were working feverishly to mobilize their members.
