This time of the year, radio listeners of all persuasions find ourselves flipping around the dial a bit. Some like the holid …I mean, Christmas, music and are looking for more, and some of us are looking for refuge, perhaps at a news station.

 

Maybe with the widespread usage of sattelite radio with its genre channels and MP3 playlists easily sent to your car’s speakers, we end up scanning a bit less than we used to, because we can have more control.

Jason Herman, a Manhattan Orthodox rabbi and kosher meat consumer, has stopped buying the beef and poultry sold by AgriProcessors. Now, when he shops at the Upper West Side’s Kosher Marketplace, he takes care to choose only products from its competitors.

When a six-car train pulls out of Penn Station at 5:30 on Sunday morning, it won’t be full of the sleepy commuters who usually occupy Amtrak’s seats. Instead it will bear the banner “Pro-Faith, Pro-Family, Pro-Choice Express,” and be filled with Jews, Protestants and even a few Catholics traveling together to Washington for the March for Women’s Lives.
