Resort Revved Up For Facelift

It won't be the Concord Resort Hotel we once knew (Jewish through and through) but it will still serve kosher blintzes and sour cream. The new owners of the Concord Resort Hotel insist there will still be a Jewish ambiance when the hotel, one of the largest in the world. It reopens the main building Oct.1 after a $40 million to $50 million renovation.

When Danielle Zeiler began seriously dating her husband-to-be, Scott Greenwood, she made it clear that if they married, their children would be raised Jews. "He said fine, but then when we became engaged, he said he wanted his religion represented in the marriage also," recalled the 26-year-old. "I said we had a problem." Another problem surfaced over the question of who would officiate at the marriage.

The tires of three cars parked at the South Huntington (L.I.) Jewish Center were slashed while their owners attended pre-High Holy Day services Saturday night, and a few hours later in Centereach, L.I., other vandals scrawled swastikas and anti-Semitic and anti-black epithets on a public school.
