The National Rifle Association and its Republican minions in the Senate once again made it safe for terrorists to buy AR-15s and any other weapon they want.  They successfully blocked legislation Monday evening to prevent anyone on the terror watch list from buying assault rifles or any other weapon or explosive.

Terrorists have constitutional rights to buy guns, too, argued NRA loyalist Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who offered an unworkable 72-hour waiting period for full federal investigations of anyone on the no-fly list who wants to buy a weapon.

Hysteria seems to be gripping the GOP. So many say they don't like Trump's tone and politics of hate but that hasn't stopped them from replicating it. Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) said President Barack Obama was "directly responsible" for the Orlando terror attack because "he pulled everybody out of Iraq, al-Qaeda went to Syria, became ISIS."

He lamely took a tiny step back saying he meant Obama's "policies" were "directly responsible" for the tragedy in Florida.

The Senate plans to vote Monday on four gun control proposals -- including banning the sale of assault rifles to anyone on the terror watch list -- and all will be shot down because obeying the National Rifle Association is a higher priority, especially among Republicans, than the safety and well-being of their constituents.

Donald Trump is his own is favorite, and possibly only, advisor, and Democrats would do well to respect that and take some sound advice from Napoleon Bonaparte.
