Real Americans support Israel. Check out this editorial from Oklahoma. They know we belong to the land. There’s no J Street, a street running one-way for the Palestinians, in the Sooner State, just real roads with soft shoulders like Route 66, the Mother Road. When the president speaks of peace and the “road map,” I think this.
Route !7 has such a crush on Route 66, always has, eveyone knows it. Oh sure, these old Routes have seen better days, some say. And no, we’re not fast like the interstate. But there’s something to be said for being old and slow, just two lanes side-by-side, taking in the scenery, just to sit alone and talk and watch a hawk making lazy circles in the sky. Route 17 says they have so much in common; says he’s just doing some good ol’ truckstop outreach on her.
Outreach? That’s his story and he’s stickin’ to it.
