Friday, December 4th, 2009 Binaymin Jolkovsky, the good hearted and very hard working editor of Jewish World Review, a terrific online magazine with reprints of just about every great newspaper column in America, along with wonderful, inspirational Jewish material, podcasts, and even comics, was taken to the hospital by ambulance this week. He left a note to his readers, he ”apologizes for not being able to publish” while he’s flat on his back. Pray for him, his Hebrew name is Binyamin Leib ben-Pesha. While he recuperates, visit his site, (Keep scrolling down the front page to get a sense of all that JWR carries.) JWR may be the best-read online-only Jewish journal on the Internet. When he’s been kind enough to reprint one of my articles from The Jewish Week I;ve received as many as 800 e-mails in response, an extraordinary amount (ask any journalist how many e-mails they usually get per article), sometimes as much as 80 percent from non-Jews, from Scotland to South Africa to Alaska, who think of JWR as a go-to site not only for political commentary but for honest-to-God Jewish spirituality and inspiration. Here’s a column about Jolkovsky by the great Jimmy Breslin, from way back in 1997, in Newsday, I think it was. This is a holier profession when Binyamin Leib ben-Pesha is up all night, working, sending IMs to those he sees are online in the midnight hours, asking, “What aee YOU doing up at this hour?” Hey, I say, “I’m up catching up to you.” Now I’m up saying Tehillim for you.

Dear Binyamin, you and I belong to different religions. The good news, though, is that we believe in the same G-d! My Blessing to you and your Family will be Isaiah 26:3, and that is that "He will keep you all in his perfect peace" because you trust in Him and your thoughts turn often to Him!
