Thursday, September 24th, 2009 Let me see if I’ve got this right. The Obama administration wants to move  Israeli-Palestinian talks directly into “final status” issues, which in case you missed the memo are issues so difficult to resolve that they were reserved for the last stage of negotiations.

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009 There’s been a lot of hype written about the Obama administration’s Middle East plans – everything from the claim the president is planning to impose a full-blown plan on the reluctant Israelis and Palestinians to the idea he’s been totally outfoxed by an Israeli Prime Minister much too sly for him.

Thursday, September 17th, 2009 Some Jewish groups were quick to get out their press releases blasting the “Goldstone Report,” the result of a United Nations investigation into last winter’s Gaza war  -  so quick it seems unlikely many actually read the 575- page report.

  Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 I’ve mostly tuned out all the deep analysis over Norman Podhoretz’s new book asking “Why Are Jews Liberals,” mostly because  the whole discussion seems to me be about finding fancy ways to say the obvious. Talk about deju vu; this argument has been going on for decades, and we’re mostly still hearing the same blather.
