At a time when most Congressional Republicans are trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump, one is behaving like a clone of his party's presidential candidate, complete with mind-numbing outrageous charges and incendiary rhetoric.

Rep. Lee Zeldin, the lone Jewish Republican in this Congress, has called Barack Obama a "racist," sounded like a Trump birther questioning the president's heritage, accused him of having "no idea what he is doing" and implying he committed treason.

There has been speculation that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to endorse Donald Trump or at least would like to see him become the next president.

That's what former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a close Trump advisor, reported after meeting with the prime minister and other top officials on his recent trip to Israel.

More and more Republicans want to build a wall, but not the one Donald Trump has in mind. Their wall is to protect them from what they increasingly believe will be a humiliating defeat for their presidential nominee and – possibly – catastrophic losses for congressional Republicans

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) has sent out a frantic call for deep pocket Republican donors to dig deeper because Trump is putting the House GOP majority in danger. 

Over in the Senate the chances are better for a Democratic takeover.

UPDATE -- After his disturbing flirtation with Donald Trump and no doubt after reading the kind of reaction posted by readers below, Joe Lieberman has decided to endorse Hillary Clinton.
