Seven weeks after Brooklyn voters took to the polls to elect a new state Senator, a State Supreme Court Judge on Tuesday ruled that 119 disputed ballots will be included in the tally.

Democrat Lewis Fidler and Republican David Storobin have been locked in an extremely tight race and Fidler’s campaign contended in a court challenge that a Strobin campaign worker improperly collected absentee ballots.

Francoise Hollande, who was elected president of France yesterday, has been saying all the right things about issues of concern to Jews. He is against anti-Semitism, opposes boycotts of Israel, and talks tough on preventing Iran from building a nuclear bomb. He has never been to Israel, but says he hopes to visit soon.

The withdrawal of Rick Santorum from the Republican presidential contest was announced in a hastily called 12-minute speech Tuesday in which the former Pennsylvania senator gracefully exited the race while tears filled the eyes of his wife and aides.
