Crown Hts. Man To Be Extradited From Israel To Face Hate Crimes Charge

A Jerusalem court ordered the extradition of a Brooklyn man to the United States in connection with a racially charged 2008 attack.

The Jerusalem District Court on Thursday approved the extradition of Yitzchak Shochet, wanted for allegedly beating two men in Brooklyn.

Police in New York say that Shochet allegedly used a bat to beat two African-American men in Crown Heights whom he reportedly had never met before. Shochet, , a member of the Shmira neighborhood patrol, was indicted on hate crimes charges.

Arab Teens Indicted In Beating Death

(JTA) — Two Arab teenagers from eastern Jerusalem were arrested in the beating death of a 60-year-old Jewish American man.

The teens accused of the crime, ages 13 and 15, were indicted Tuesday on manslaughter charges in Jerusalem District Court. The victim, Lance Wolf, had died the previous day from his injuries.

Wolf was beaten with a stick on Aug. 18 in central Jerusalem. The U.S. Embassy did not release any further information on Wolf, citing privacy concerns.
